Welcome to my website. I am an author, librarian, historical researcher and an aficionado of historical fiction and general bookworm. My new book, The Song and The Sword,  a work of historical fiction, is due to be published in June. It is the first in a series of adventure/romance stories set in 12th century England, Normandy and Sicily during the third crusade.

 

I studied French and Spanish at Bristol University.  For the past eleven years, I have worked as a historical researcher/librarian at Guildhall Library in the City of London where I run discussion groups, and school and university workshops, using storytelling and even an annual Regency Ball to engage readers with history. Before that, I worked as a researcher/writer at the Guardian and Observer newspapers for eight years.
